Georgia Aquarium:

Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world with million gallons of water. It is the only place apart from Asia to house shark in them. This is the major reason as to why they have such a big water back up. However, there are issues with regard to caging sharks. Sharks aren’t something that you can tame, and at the same time, they can develop health issue when housed in one place with nowhere else to go. The intensity of the issue increased after the death of the sharks that were housed here.

Dubai Mall Aquarium:

It is quite unlikely if Dubai hasn’t gotten something that has to do with the largest or the best in the world. So here you have an aquarium as well in the mall. The aquarium has about 2.63 million gallons of water filled in it.  For a rough count, more than 33000 residents live here in this aquarium. Needless to say, the aquarium in Dubai also holds a record for the largest acrylic panel in the world. The aquarium forms a part of the Dubai mall that is one of the largest malls in the world.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium:

With 1.98 million gallons of water in it and with more than 20 million visitors every year, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium takes the third place on the list of largest aquariums in the world. The aquarium takes its residence in the Ocean Expo Park in Japan. The aquarium is big enough to accommodate the reproduction cycle of sharks and other big species of the kind. The aquarium was opened in the year 2002.

L’Oceanografic:

The aquarium is filled with 1.85 million gallons of water, and this is the reason why they make it to the fourth place on the list.  It is also known as the complex of science and is located in Valencia, Spain. Though it is technically smaller than the other aquariums on the list in terms of water capacity, the aquarium houses about 45000 animals that makeup to 500 different species from across the world. The aquarium was opened in the year 2003.

Turkuazoo:

Turkuazoo was opened in the year 2009 and is one of the largest aquariums in the world. It consists of about 1.85 million gallons of water in it. Unlike the first three on the list, this aquarium isn’t designed like the usual one. It begins at the midway of the wall goes over your heads and reaches the other end of the wall almost like making a 1800 pathway, which is the best part about visiting this place. The aquarium houses some of the rarest fish types in the world.
